sky Karasik weekly letter assignment

Things I have learned this school year

1. Be more patient with people (Including teachers)

I learned to be more patient with others and myself by , none other than Mr. Brown himself. This kind and caring man has taught me a lot and many of the life lessons he has taught us have been affective in my life. I take all of his life lessons and many other lessons to heart and put them to good use, for instance when my friends are acting a certain way I calmly let it die out and have patience, then I give them my piece of advice in how they can work the issue out.

2. Be more open minded about things like: Ideas in group projects, then give opinion

I learned to be open minded, also by Mr. Brown. When he had us separate ourselves into groups for our PSA's project, I thought "ok, this could either end badly or have a surprising outcome". During my group discussions on how we were going to go about forming and filming our PSA I sat and listened. After a while of listening to my group members talk I got an idea of my own that added all of the others together and in the end ours and everyone else's PSA's turned out amazing. From this particular situation I became a more open minded person, which in turn made me a better person, I listen more to my friends' opinions as well as my own.

3. Give yourself the credit you deserve for the things you have accomplished.

I have learned to give myself credit for the things I have accomplished by my learning center teacher Ms. Julie Hallgrimson. She has taught me a lot about how to be more appreciative of myself and all the hard work I do and to always keep a chin high up in the air no matter what. Because I have learned to respect and give myself more credit for all the work I do, I am getting better test scores , I'm trying harder than I have in the past and am on my way to a successful future.

If I were Margret..

If I were Margret…

If I were Margret’s parent I would have done the same thing, because it is the only safe place for her.

If I were her doctor I would have immediately had her parents put her directly into my care.

If I were her sister I would have told my parents to place her in the doctors care the second we noticed a difference in her.

I believe Margret would have rather had been home than in an institution, but her parents were trying there best to do what they thought was the right thing for her.

You need to think about her mindset, she is so shell shock (or you would) to really care where she (you) was, because her (your) mind would be too focused on what has happened to you rather than where you want to live. Overall, I would want to be put in an institution, because you are surrounded around a lot of doctors who care about you and are trying to help you the best they can.

Self-Honesty: three things I want to be more honest about with myself

self honesty
The first thing I want to be more honest about with myself is: I am pretty and I DONT need to change ANYTHING about  myself image.

The second thing I want to be more honest with myself is: I am smart and capable of anything, I just need to put my mind to it and NOT have any self doubt.

The last thing I want to be more honest with myself is: I need to watch what and how much I eat. i eat a lot of food everyday more than I need probably.

Ice-girl and Dr.Flame An antihero story based on me.

On a hot summer day in the  town of Folksville, Ice girl was on a morning swim, when suddenly she saw trees burning to the north of the lake. She swam over to the scene to investigate, and found Dr. Flame using his fire breathe to burn down trees for his new lake house. Ice girl was furious and her face turned blue, her lips turned to ice, and then before Dr. Flame realized she was there, she used her ice breathe to put out the fire. Dr.Flame turned and faced Ice girl and gave her a devilish smirk and that raised Ice girls temper through the atmosphere, before he knew it Dr.Flame was completely rock solid in ice. By the time Dr. Flame had dried out, he was on a ship towards the fire department and was arrested by Folksville police and was put away for damage of the Folksville National Park.

What I live for.

What I live for.

1) A great future
2)A happy family
3)To be happy
4) To live for my mother

These are just to name a few, but the main reason I live for is to make my family and my mother in heaven proud of me for what I have and will accomplish. As a young girl I never really thought about my future much, always thought it was so far off. Now that I'm sixteen and in high school it's time to be more serious about my future, and have more reasons to live for, than before.

Happy vs Unhappy

The three things that make me happy are:

1). Music
2). Dancing
3). Being with my friends and family

The three things that make me unhappy are:

1). When people act like they care about me then treat me poorly
2).Being lied to
3). Being betrayed

One way I can change the way people treat me is making sure I know I can trust the people I am friends with. By doing my homework at school and finishing it, I have more time on the weekends to go hangout with my friends and it makes it easier during the week to spend more time relaxing with my family.

Human And Nature

I believe humans wouldn't be able to survive without nature around. Trees give us oxygen and plants give us water and something beautiful to look forward to seeing every morning. Without nature humans would have been dead by now, we nature for food and resources. I thank nature for being here with me everyday, I am kinda am a nature person so i have learned to appreciate the gorgeousness of the beautiful world that surrounds us.

I dare you to take a second to look around and thank the nature for ( in a way) keeping you alive.

Song in Literature of Choice.

What song and literature?

For this project I have chosen a song from my childhood that is relevant to the Biblical literature story Joseph's Dreams. The song I have chosen to perform is called "Any dream will do" by Donny Osmond.

Why did you choose this song and literature?

I chose this song and literature, because the story of Joseph and his dreams caught my interest and so I chose to do a song that I knew would relate well with my choice of literature. The reason I chose this specific literature was, because there is something about the history of Joseph that I find interesting and exciting.  I can relate to Joseph's history, because at very young both him and I were separated from his families and also we both were born  during a rough time . The reason I chose the song I will be performing was, because it is a song that was introduced to me during my childhood, it's a song I like and hope my audience will like too.  When my group was handed the story of Joseph's Dreams as I started reading the story, this song came to mind and I knew it related to it.

How I plan to teach

I plan to teach my song and and choice of literature by using a song that my audience can easily relate to my form of literature. Then, I plan to pull out how the two are relatable and what stood out to me about both, and last i will explain the summary of the story behind my song of choice. I also plan to ask the audience questions of what they didn't understand or if they need more detail on something i went over during my presentation. I will be using a powerpoint to present my topic of choice and my song of choice.
